Roses and River Rocks Valentine's Day Centerpiece Idea
Donna Pilato
It isn't necessary to buy long stemmed roses to make a pretty Valentine's Day rose centerpiece. In fact, you probably want to keep your centerpiece low so that you can make eye contact with your loved one throughout your romantic dinner. Choose a small, pretty bowl and fill the bottom with river rocks (available in craft stores) and water. Use a dozen red roses, and cut the stems of 11 of them short enough that they will be an inch above the river rocks when poked between them. Tear the petals off the remaining rose and scatter around the bowl.
