Always see your guest off completely. Dont open the door and let them slip out then shut it. Say your goodbyes while inside or on the porch, sure, but wait to see them safely in their car and do a quick wave as they pull out. You need not wait to see them round the bend but at least ensure that their car started before you wave and go back inside.
