This week's tip was submitted by Jade.

My daughter wanted a Barbie party for her third birthday, so we decided on the Rapunzel Barbie and hosted a princess party.

I took old Avon boxes and sponge painted them pink, green, blue and beige, and built a cardboard castle around my porch. I made an arch out of the lids and lined it with white silk and a strand of acrylic pink roses. For an extra touch I added some butterfly ornaments to it. Inside we put all of the Rapunzel decor. I made 16 stars out of cardboard, painted them purple, put glitter on them, and we hung them from the ceiling between the pink/purple streamers.

We served a castle cake for the adults and mini cupcakes and confetti ice cream cups for the kids, plus a few of my daughter's favorite treats. All the girls wore beaded tiaras and my daughter dressed as a princess. I made party boxes and put bubbles, jewelry, fingernail polish, candy and different things for the boys. We had a great time and the kids loved the castle.

Thanks for the tip Jade!
