Tip of the Week
Look here each Monday for a new tip to make entertaining a snap.
This week's tip was submitted by Nina Warren.
Raise Your Tabletop to WOW!
I have used empty, cleaned paint cans to create height on my serving tables. Fill them with 2 cups of sand in a plastic zipper bag for weight. Cover them well with the table cloth or an accent material draped, with edges turned under and bunched.
If you need more height than one paint can provides, use a wooden board (for stability) between can layers and stack like a pyramid. Or you can use five cans in a circle and place a cardboard or plywood circle over them. Then add a paint can on top in the center or more toward the back if your table is against the wall, drape with cloth, add centerpiece or cake to top tier and use lower tier for dessert plates, napkins, forks -- you can let your imagination carry you to WOW!
I have used this technique in setting up food serving tables, gift tables, craft shows, registry tables, the list could go on and on. I hope this will make your next table setting look very special.
Thanks for the fabulous tip Nina!
