Readers Respond: What's Your Better Way to Ask for a Response to an Invitation

Responses: 3

By , About.com Guide

Readers of this site constantly express their frustration with guests not responding to invitations. Yet some invited guests seem to be genuinely confused about what the letters "RSVP" mean. It's been suggested that the need to translate the letters into the French phrase "répondez s'il vous plaît", and then translate that phrase into English may be the root of the problem. Have you figured out a better way to ask guests to let you know whether they are planning to attend your party, and therefore succeeded in getting guests to respond? If so, other readers would love to know your secret. Share Your RSVP Wording

Would appreciate a quick response so that if you're not able to attend I can invite another couple as seating is limited.
