From the article: Funerals and Mourning Rituals for Christians and Jews
Many people know what a Christian viewing or "wake" is after someone has died. It's a time to visit with the family of the deceased prior to the burial, often at the funeral home. Visitors offer comfort to the family and share their remembrances of the deceased. But there are other religions and cultures that have different expectations of visitors. Since it's best to be prepared before attending one of these funeral and mourning events, I invite readers to share their family's traditions so we can be prepared the next time we need to attend one.
