Guide Review - Lords of Salt
In testing these salts I paired them with the recommended dishes in the accompanying product literature. I found that some of the salts tasted more strongly of the infusions than others. The Serrano Lime salt was unmistakable and perfectly finished the recommended grilled shrimp. On the other hand, although the Chardonnay salt was pretty and aromatic, it didn't seem any more flavorful than a good quality unflavored sea salt. The most visually interesting of the salts was the Pinot Noir whose rosy crystals glistened on the meats and vegetables on which they were sprinkled.
These salts will provide a pretty accent to your table and your cooking when served to your guests for seasoning at the table. Further, any gourmet cook will appreciate receiving any one or more of these salts as a hostess gift.
