Guide Review - Jamie's Italy by Jamie Oliver
I'm somewhat familiar with the mystique of Jamie Oliver, but I didn't fully experience it until I read his latest book, "Jamie's Italy." His passion for food, for Italy, and for his readers comes shining through these pages to great effect. To be honest, I approached this book with a large measure of skepticism, wondering how a British cook could really be expected to understand Italian cuisine. But Jamie's humble homage to the country, and his acknowledgement that Italy has been a source of inspiration for him as a chef, has made me overcome my doubts. His style is charming, down-to-earth, and very educational, and I now understand why he has become so popular in recent years. As for this cookbook, the combination of the beautiful photographs, with the enthusiastic discussions of the region, cuisine and recipes by Jamie, will make you want to become an Italian cook too. As you follow along the detailed instructions, that leave no questions on how to proceed, you'll know that you can achieve your newly found objective.
