You’ve planned the party of the summer season. Maybe it’s a backyard barbecue; perhaps it’s a bridal shower tea party; maybe you’re entertaining guests at your beach house. You know everything is going to be perfect and you’d like to send your guests home with a small memory of the wonderful time you have in store for them. Here are my favorite ideas for party favors for a summertime party.
1. Holding it Together
More than any season, we hit the road in the summertime looking for fun. Give your guests a colorful beach tote to bring along all of their summer fun necessities.2. Bug Off
Well, not your guests but those little pesky visitors that have a way of crashing a party. Send your guests home with a small citronella candle that will chase away unwanted visitors.3. Blowing in the Wind
I don’t know any one, of any age, that doesn’t enjoy making and watching bubbles float away. Buy small colorful bottles of bubbles and print or write your own labels to personalize them for your party.4. Just Lazin’ Around
A new, unfaded, colorful beach towel, rolled up and tied with a colorful ribbon will be just the thing for your guests to bring with them on trips throughout the season.5. Summer Gold
Give your guests a jar of local honey with a cheerful yellow ribbon tied around the lid. Attach a card to the ribbon marking the occasion.6. Soothe the Ouch
Not only kids are subject to sunburns. Adults are just as likely to bask in the warmth of the summer sunshine - for too long! So give your guests a little tender loving care in the form of a bottle of post sun moisturizer.7. Memories of the Shore
Give guests mini beach pails filled with salt water taffy.8. Get Grilling
Mix a large batch of your favorite spice rub for grilling. Package it in small jars and attach a label with your recommendations for using it.9. A Taste of Summer Fun
Give guests giant striped lollipops with small cellophane bags of cotton candy tied to the stick. Turn these into centerpieces filling terra cotta pots with floral foam and sticking the lollipops into the foam.10. Remember the Season
Give your guests mini scrapbooks or photo albums to fill with all of their photos, ticket stubs and other memorabilia from the season. Put a copy of your party invitation on the first page to start it off.
