A Party Favor for All Ages

By , About.com Guide

Who doesn't enjoy receiving a little gift when they leave a party? Young kids can't wait to get a party bag when the fun is over, and adults feel like kids again when they walk away from a party with a favor in hand.

A party favor should be something that reminds your guests of the good time they had at your event. It might be something edible, something silly, or something sentimental. But when you send your guests home with a photo of themselves at the party, you know they won't forget your event any time soon.

It's easy to make this kind of favor as long as you prepare. You'll need to have a camera; a small photo printer and photo paper; photo frames that fit your photo paper; someone available to play photographer at your party - it could be a friend, a competent teenage child, or a hired professional.

During your party you should invite guests to visit the photographer to have their portrait taken. You might offer individual, couple, or group shots. Make sure the photographer has a list of all guests and checks off people as their photos are taken so that no one is missed.

Your photographer will need to decide if she wants to take and print the photos individually or in batches. Be sure to calculate, based on the speed of your printer, how long it will take to print each photo. If you have a large party, you might need to use two cameras and printers.

As guests leave, present them with a personalized party favor that will keep their memory of your event intact for years to come.
