A "Would You Rather" Ice Breaker

Turn Your Group into Pollsters with this Ice Breaker

By , About.com Guide

With this ice breaker your guests or group member will be required to go around the party and ask one another to make their choice between two crazy options. You can either write the questions yourself tailored to your specific audience, or use questions found in the book "Zobmondo - The Outrageous Book of Bizarre Choices" Compare Prices.

It's easy to prepare for this ice breaker. Assign each guest a number as they enter your party, and give them a sheet of paper with a "Would You Rather" question at the top and a list of the numbers for each guest below. Tell everyone that they need to poll each guest on their response to the question. As they get their responses they will need to write them on the form next to the other guests names. Once everyone has had enough time to complete their poll, gather everyone together and have each person read their question aloud to the group with a summary of responses.

Throughout the polling phase and the results portion of this game, your guests will be chatting with one another and hopefully laughing as they learn more about their fellow pollsters.

Here are some sample questions to get you started:

  • Would you rather run a mile barefoot or walk a 100 miles in shoes?
  • Would you rather be fired from your job or fire your best friend from his job?
  • Would you rather have x-ray vision or be able to read minds?

Do you have a favorite entertaining tip? Send it to us using our simple submission form. If selected, I will post it with your name in future weeks.
