For "Office Appreciation Day" at work (our version of "Secretaries Day"), we combine back and front office people from all of our stores. Often, some of these people have not met face-to-face. Last year we did an ice breaker that worked very well.
When I sent out the invitations I included a sheet that asked each employee to tell us something about herself that the rest of us didn't know. They returned the form to me as an RSVP. I printed all the responses on one page and the names on a separate sheet.
At the party we handed these pages out, and everyone worked on matching them up. We then announced who did what. It was a hoot! We had everything on our list from "boob job" and "high school track champion" to the gal that accidentally ran over her husband-to-be's motorcycle on their wedding day (and didn't tell him for 3 years...) It worked very well, and I highly recommend it!
Thanks for the tip Molli!
