Menu planning becomes a breeze by keeping a diary of menus. I have been doing it for 15 years. Every time you entertain, plan the menu in your diary because over the years it becomes a good resource. You can modify a popular menu for re-use or remember dishes that you forgot you used to make.
At the back of the diary make individual lists of the starters, salads, main courses, and desserts that you make. Keep adding new items in each category every time you try a new recipe. Before you know it, you will have a long list of dishes to choose from, at a glance.
