As a backup plan for large outdoor parties rent a tent. They provide shade from the sun and shelter from the rain so that outdoor parties do not have to be ruined by bad weather. Tents can be rented quite reasonably and generally, unless you are very experienced with large tents, pay the extra fee and have professionals put it up and take it down. Large tents can be dangerous unless put up correctly. But if you expect very high winds, alternative shelter would be a good idea.
