A Creative Way to Serve Food at a Buffet

Think Vertically the Next Time Your Arrange Your Buffet

By , About.com Guide

This tip was submitted by  Greg Jenkins, Bravo Productions.

A creative and economical way to use food as part of the theme decor is by displaying your cuisine on book shelves instead of a traditional banquet or dining room table.  You can buy inexpensive, unfinished wooden book shelves from any  discount store -- paint and and accent them with a particular color and theme.  For example, if your menu is largely spicy dishes, you might want to paint the shelves red and accent them with jalapeno peppers and books that are reflective of your theme, as well as with artsy bric-a-brac. The food display can be accessible from both sides, and the showcase makes for a great conversational piece.

Thanks for the tip Greg!
