Surprises Happen - So Be Prepared!

Sometimes the best laid party plans can still deliver challenging surprises. Have you ever considered what you would do if more guests came to your party than had responded to your invitation? Or what it guests arrived hungrier than you expected, and most of your buffet disappeared at the beginning of your party? If not, you should think about these possibilities and have a back-up plan.

Whether you prepared the food yourself or used a caterer to make the food for your party, you should know who you can call if you need extra food delivered at the last minute. It might be the caterer that prepared the food for your party initially, your favorite local restaurant that prepares and serves the same type of dishes you originally had on your menu, or even a good quality take-out place that can prepare large orders at the last minute. Do a little research prior to your party and find out who will be open during your party, then put their phone number in a safe place where it can be found easily in an emergency. That way, if provisions run low, you'll know where you can call for reinforcements. It may never happen, but it never hurts to be prepared.
