One of the many great things about springtime is that if you've forgotten to buy flowers for a party, chances are you can put something together just by stepping outside your door. Tulips and daffodils make obvious cuttings for a vase. But flowering shrubs make more unusual cuttings and are not available year round at your florist.
So take advantage of the opportunity to cut some branches from your forsythia, apple trees or other flowering shrubs for a seasonal, exciting display before they disappear.
