Joining in Grace Before Meals

Follow Your Hostess' Lead

By Donna Pilato, About.com

This week's tip has been submitted by Virgil Banowetz.

When you are a guest at someone's house, let the host or hostess be in charge of the grace before meals. If it starts sounding like a familiar prayer, feel free to join in if it feels right, but do not assume it will end in the way you are used to hearing it. For example, never make the final sign of the cross before the host does. It's like telling your host that you want the prayer to end.

Thanks for the tip, Virgil!
