An Easy Way to RSVP

How to Take Out the Awkwardness and Save Time When RSVP-ing

By , About.com Guide

This tip was submitted by Gail Whittington.

Being self-employed, there are not enough hours in a day for me. I like to avoid the awkwardness of calling in an RSVP and having to explain to someone on the phone why I cannot accept an invitation. Likewise, I don't like to call in an RSVP only to create hard feelings because I have to cut short the very talkative person on the other end who wants to catch up. Therefore, I have found a note serves great. I always keep thank you cards on hand. I jot down a few lines thanking them for the invite, accept or refuse it nicely, slap on a stamp and I'm done. No hard feelings and all is well.

Thanks for the tip Gail!
