Quick and Cheap Christmas and New Year's Centerpieces

After you've finished, literally, trimming the Christmas tree, save the leftover branches for a centerpiece. Place the branches on an attractive platter. Top with festive items you will find around your home during the holidays such as cranberries, tinsel, ornaments, or garlands. In this arrangement I've used a garland, artificial holly berries, fake pine cones I had bought a while back for a wreath, and gold paper shred.
