Guitar Birthday Cake

I created this cake for a friend who is the lead singer in a band. It was his birthday and we surprised him with the cake at one of his shows.The main body of the guitar was cut from a 16X16 square pan. The fret bar was made from an 8X8 pan sliced in three strips, placed end to end. I used fondant for the details and white royal icing for the rest. It was a big hit! Total time involved in cake - 10 hrs, but it was worth it in the end! I starting decorating cakes this past fall for fun and find that it's stress relief for me. I really surprised myself with this one!
