This week's tip was submitted by Lori.
When renting a hall for a family holiday party that you'll be
catering yourselves, you can take
care of the decorating costs by organizing a table decorating contest.
If you're splitting hall costs with family members, ask each family
to buy a table that they will then decorate. Each person
attending the party will contribute an unwrapped gift toward the prize.
Everyone at the party votes for the best decorated table. The winning table gets to pick out
which gifts they would like first.
The remainder of the gifts can be distributed either in order of
most to least popular decorated table or by playing games.
Thanks for the tip Lori! Do you have a favorite entertaining tip? Send it to us using our simple submission
form. If selected, I will post it with your name in future weeks.
