How to Plan a Romantic Meal

By using the right props, your meal and your love life can sizzle.

Difficulty Level: Easy      Time Required: 30 minutes

Here's How:
  1. Include all five senses as you make your plan.
  2. First choose your environment. Choose a beautiful outdoor location or a clean, uncluttered room in your home. Think "outside the box", it does not have to be your dining room.
  3. Select the necessary table settings for indoor or outdoor use. Will you need a picnic blanket, tablecloth, or antique lace runner?
  4. Continue planning the visuals. Will you need a centerpiece or is the environment visually stimulating enough?
  5. Plan the meal. As you consider your menu, think about the colors on the plate and textures, not just the taste of the food.
  6. Don't forget to please the nose. The scent of apple pie entices a man; lavender and other soothing herbs please a woman.
  7. By all means use candles, but make sure they're not scented. Scented candles can clash with the taste of your food.
  8. Select foods with aphrodisiac properties.
  9. Food that can be fed to your partner is a fun choice. Forget about the utensils.
  10. Remember the soundtrack for your meal. Pick romantic/sexy music. If you will be outside with crickets chirping or by a babbling brook, nature will be your music. If not, bring along your own music.
  11. If the meal will be indoors, make sure your seating is comfortable. Nothing kills the mood more than feeling fidgety.
