Yesterday my younger daughter and I began to make my birthday cake. We baked the three chocolate layers, and made the vanilla buttercream frosting. Today we will play with fondant for the first time. I'll probably assemble the layers, fill them with frosting, and place the fondant over the cake. Then my daughter will roll and cut out fondant shapes to decorate the cake as a surprise for me. I really don't know if this cake will be good or not.
