Recipe for Forgotten Cookies

Just Make 'em and Forget 'em

Ingredients

  • 2 egg whites, room temperature
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 cupp chopped pecans or 1 cup chocolate chips, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350º. Cover large cookie sheet with sheet of wax paper.
  2. Beat egg whites with electric mixer until stiff.
  3. Gradually add sugar and beat until incorporated and mixture is still stiff.
  4. Beat in cream of tartar.
  5. Gently mix in optional ingredients, if desired.
  6. Drop mixture by teaspoonfuls onto prepared cookie sheet.
  7. Place cookie sheet in oven, turn off the oven's heat, and leave in overnight. DO NOT OPEN OVEN DOOR.
  8. Store in air tight container.

Makes 3 dozen cookies.
