Guide Review - From the Cook's Garden

Reading this book makes me feel both virtuous and indulgent. On the one hand it's chock-full of mostly veggie recipes. On the other, the recipes are fresh and creative. To top it off, the book is worth getting simply for the illustrations by award winning illustrator Mary Azarian. Author Ellen Ecker Ogden is passionate about her veggies. Ogden directs the test kitchen at American's premier organic seed catalog, The Cook's Garden. With good reason, gardeners look forward to each catalog's recipes. This book will inspire the home gardener to plant an ambitious kitchen garden, or at the very least to prowl at local farmers' markets. In either case, their efforts will be rewarded once they discover in this book the many uses for their bounty.
