Party Description
If you have a pool on your property, you can host a day or nighttime pool party. For fun activities you can arrange silly water Olympics games such as collecting more floating ping pong or other balls than anyone else in the pool (be careful the balls won't be sucked into your filter). Other Olympic games could be relay races, basketball tosses, ring toss, etc. You can also plan many of the activities you would have at a backyard barbecue party.
Planning Elements
- Select the date and the guest list. Don't forget to pick a rain date for this party.
- Send out invitations.
- Plan the menu. A Mexican buffet would be fun at this party. Nachos, tortilla chips and salsa, tacos and salads would all be great. Lots of refreshing drinks should be served including soft drinks, water, juices, and alcohol free punches. An assortment of summer fruit sorbets and cookies will complete the menu.
- Gather all the supplies you will need for the Olympics. Purchase inexpensive trophies or prizes for the winners of the competitions.
- Prepare favor packages.
- Inform neighbors, and possibly local police about the date of your party. Invite them to drop by for a taco.
Party Favor Suggestion
A fun in the sun gift pack is called for at this party. It might include sunscreen, flip flop shoes, sun glasses or beach balls.
