Sweet 16 Parties, Part 2 - A Brunch Party

Brunch

By Donna Pilato, About.com

Party Description

If your daughter and her friends are more low key, a brunch is a nice option either held at home or in a restaurant. This option is also kinder to your budget than some of the other choices.

Planning Elements

  • Make reservations if the brunch will be hosted in a restaurant, or...
  • Plan your menu if it will be held at home. I would choose recipes that are more breakfast foods for this group's brunch. Save the poached salmon for your adult brunches. The menu could include any or all of the following: pancakes, made to order omelets, bagels, muffins, fresh fruit salad, coffee, teas, juices, scones, jams, cereals and doughnuts.
  • Send invitations.
  • Choose suitable background music if held at home.
  • Create a dramatic centerpiece of large sunflowers for the table.

Party Favor Suggestion

Give your guests miniature bud vases as a favor. If the vases you select are on the ornate side, pick a different style for the boys. Something with a more contemporary design would be better.
