Sweet 16 Parties - Part 1

A Trip to the Theater and Dinner

By , About.com Guide

Party Description

Your daughter may be the type that appreciates a "night on the town". A trip to the theater and a dinner out with a few close friends is the kind of celebration that will make her feel special. Hiring a limousine to chauffeur the group would add to the significance and fun of the occasion. Make sure it's stocked with plenty of soft drinks and snacks.

The expense of this celebration will vary. You can keep things under control by limiting the guest list to just a few close friends. You can either splurge on the most expensive restaurant in town, or pick a more modest, but better than a fast food joint, restaurant to keep the budget reasonable. If you can't afford to hire a limousine, then have an adult family member perform the chauffeur duties.

Planning Elements

  • Order theater tickets.
  • Issue invitations to friends.
  • Make restaurant reservations.
  • Take daughter shopping for an appropriate outfit.
  • Hire limousine or make alternative chauffeuring arrangements.

Party Favor Suggestion

If the show is a musical, a CD of the music from the show would make a nice favor. If the show isn't a musical, or you have a smaller budget, a small box of after dinner mints tied with a special ribbon would be appropriate.
