Party Description
This Sweet 16 event resembles a wedding except there is no groom! In certain regions this is what's expected, and if this is what it takes to remain in good social standing, I just wish you a large bank account or a good loan officer as a friend.
This is the one party that will likely include mixed ages. Often extended family and parental friends are invited along with the teen's guests. The music and food choices will have to be tailored toward more mainstream tastes. It may not be the most entertaining option for your teenager, although it's likely to be the most expensive.
Planning Elements
- Select a caterer and a catering hall.
- Order and send invitations.
- Select a florist and order centerpieces.
- Order corsages for daughter, mother and grandmother.
- Hire a band and review musical selections in advance.
- Hire a professional photographer.
- Shop for appropriate formal attire.
- Plan menu with caterer.
- Order favors for guests.
Party Favor Suggestion
Since this is a more traditional type of event, it calls for a similar favor. Some possibilities are engraved picture frames, trinket boxes, bud vases, or chocolates.
