A tea party is a wonderful way for friends to gather over a light, but special meal together. Whether the party is organized to celebrate a bridal shower, the arrival of summer, or the finals at Wimbledon, your guests will arrive expecting goodies that are better than the ordinary. Why not choose as your theme a food that delights young and old - strawberries? They suit the mood of a quaint country tea party, as well as a more elegant English-style tea. And they lend themselves to a variety of recipes, all of which are very suitable to a tea party menu.
Setting the Stage
It's very easy to set the stage with a strawberry motif. There are English-style tea sets such as the Wild Strawberry pattern of Wedgwood China which creates a very elegant table. Or use a simple tea set with strawberry theme table linens.
Create a centerpiece of a large bowl of fresh strawberries in the center of the table. As your party progresses, bring out bowls of whipped cream and brown sugar so that guests can help themselves to your centerpiece.
