Tip of the Week
Look here each Monday for a new tip to make entertaining a snap.
Preparing for Pot Luck
When time is short, but friendships are long, organizing a pot luck meal is often the kind of entertaining that makes it possible for everyone to gather without major effort.
If you are the host for a pot luck event you should always remember to be prepared with extra serving pieces. It would be ideal if you can determine in advance what your guests will bring and the kind of serving pieces that will be required. But, if not, make sure you have a good variety of pieces available for when your guests arrive. Generally the first fifteen minutes of a pot luck party are hectic with arrivals, greetings and setup. The last thing you want to be doing as the organizer is running up to your attic to dig out extra bowls, baskets or serving utensils. You should be ready to act as conductor of events and soon your party will be humming.
