Tip of the Week

Look here each Monday for a new tip to make entertaining a snap.

Prioritize Your Cooking

Most cooks I know (myself included) have a tendency to prepare too many dishes for a party. Now, not that there's anything wrong with leftovers, but sometimes you wear yourself out so much with the preparations, you have no energy left for the party.

So, my tip for this week is you should carefully prioritize the order in which you plan to cook your recipes. Try to prepare the most critical recipes on your menu first. Leave the fourth hors d'oeuvre or the third dessert to the end of your preparations. That way, if you find yourself running out of steam, you can easily skip preparing one of those non-essential dishes. Nobody but you will know that it was originally planned as part of your menu, and nobody else will miss it. And you will have created a little extra energy reserve for actually enjoying your party.

If you have a tip you'd like to share, you can now use our simple submission form. If selected, I will post it with your name in future weeks.
