One of the unfortunate side effects of using candles is that some of the prettiest ones have a nasty habit of dripping. If you find yourself stuck with trying to clean wax from your table cloth after a dinner party, follow these steps to remove that pesky wax.
- Rub ice on the wax to harden.
- Scrape off as much as you can with a dull knife.
- Place clean paper towels on each side of the residual wax stain and press with a warm iron.
- Continue to replace the paper towels as long as the wax continues to transfer to the towels.
- Next, place the stain face down on new paper towels and sponge with a pre-wash stain remover or dry cleaning solvent.
- Blot excess stain remover with paper towel then allow to dry.
- Finally, launder.
- If any stain remains, wash again with a bleach that is safe for your fabric.
