Hanukkah Traditions

Wednesday December 17, 2008
The 8-day celebration of Hanukkah begins this coming Sunday, December 21. As with most religious holidays, there are special food and family traditions associated with this celebration. Friends of my daughters look forward to the eight days of gifts. When I'm lucky, I get to sample the potato latkes that are so much a part of this holiday. In fact, my Jewish friends often include this tempting dish at our holiday cookie exchange. Just think, fried latkes and butter cookies - can you feel the holiday pounds sneaking on as I type? And I wouldn't change a thing.
