Host a Chinese Dinner Party to Watch the 2008 Beijing Olympics

Tuesday July 29, 2008
Unless you've been living under that proverbial rock, you know that the summer Olympics begin in just a little over a week, on 08-08-08, hosted in Beijing China. Aside from the excitement over cheering on your country's athletes, this also presents a fun opportunity to invite your friends over for a Olympics Games viewing party. Naturally you'll want to serve Chinese food for this occasion, but before you pick up you phone to dial your local takeout restaurant, consider preparing the menu yourself. Before I attempted my first Chinese food recipe, I was a little intimidated. But then I realized with experience that it's not so tough to do, and the food often tastes fresher and better. So here's my plan for an Olympics inspired Chinese Dinner Party. Give it your own personal best, and attempt some or all of these great dishes in your own kitchen.

The menu ideas are really great! Definitely some delicious options there. I also found a slideshow that features how to plan an Asian-inspired bridal shower which covers many Chinese elements. The slideshow can be found here.
