Here's My Birthday Cake

As promised, here's a photo of my birthday cake. This was the first time I attempted a fondant icing, and was pleased with how easy the Wilton brand fondant was to work. My 9-year-old actually used the colored fondant to make all of the decorations on the cake, without any supervision from me. Didn't she do a great job? My only complaint about this fondant is that it could have tasted better. Somehow there must be a tradeoff between a fondant that works easily and tastes good. The next time I think I'll attempt making my own fondant.
