Party Supplies

Monday October 11, 2004
We will celebrate my younger daughter's 6th birthday this week, culminating in a break-all-the-rules, too large at-home party on Saturday. By all the established guidelines, we should have six guests attend this party since that will be her age. Instead, our guest list is about triple that amount! I promise to share with you whether this party is a disaster or whether we managed to pull off a party with 18 kindergarteners.

The theme, as selected by my daughter, is a dancing party. Since 5 and 6 years olds are pretty young for any serious dancing, we've converted this theme into a musical games party. After planning the party basics and the guest list, the first thing I did was to order the party favors and several important props for this party. I turned to Oriental Trading Company, one of my favorite online sites for inexpensive and unique party favors and treats. Just wait until those kids see the 8'' twisted marshmallow ropes that will be included in the party bags! We also ordered a disco ball party lamp, light set and key chains. And although I decided to purchase the paper goods for the party locally, there are many online sites you can visit for all of your party supplies.

The idea used in the post is very good one. One should always take into consideration the age and the interests of the guests to pick right party favors.
